I have a telegraph pole in my garden. The previous occupants got paid by BT for the pole. How do I go about enquiring with BT for the same.

The most likely thing that happened was, a few years back most utility companies made a one off payment to landowners, they used to pay it yearly but when they were all privatised they found this to be a nuisance, so they changed the way they did it, not that anybody got rich by it, we had two electricity poles on our land and I think we got a one off payment of about 50, but you could write to Bt to find out for sure, but you won't be retiring on it,Ray
hi , I used to work for b.t. they will pay you next to nothing for having the pole on your property. but they will move it free of charge if you tell them it is in the way or annoying you.

shame you did'nt have a mobile phone aerial
post on your land. people get paid thousands each year for them.
