Insurance with police caution

I am about to renew my building insurance. I note that one of the questions on the form relates to police cautions. I stupidly recveived a police caution in October last year (not a conviction). Obviously I have to declare this as I don't want my insurance to be void if I ever have to claim. however, does anyone know what the implications of this will be? i.e does the premium go up, who then gets access to this information, etc?

Depends what the caution was for. Any kind of fraud, theft and so on may make it difficult to get insurance.

If it is for something that could in no way make you an insurance risk then it is unlikely to make any difference.

Thank you Ethal. It was for possession of a controlled drug which was an act of stupidity rather than anything designed to be dishonest or fraudulant. Thanks for your advice.
