homeless please help

hi all, recently i have been made homeless, i am in the birmingham area of england and unfortunately currently unemployed(painter). I have been on the housing registe for a year now but i have not been given anything, and every route the council are sending me down is being closed off due to me not having kids or not being disabled. can any one give me some advice on wat i cud do or any info on private landlords? thanks

I presume that you are being forced out of your property and that you haven't left yet!!! I'm in a similar situation, have to be out my flat next weekend and as flatmate got made redundant we haven't been able to get anywhere else. Do you have any family you can stay with while you get yourself sorted?? My sis is taking me in!!
As for private landlords, do you have a local paper that has properties in, there are often places in those. Also try www.gumtree.com, lots of private stuff on there and loot.com as well.

can you not get a flat private for dss only? the social will pay your rent. there is an agency in birmingham that deals with dss only, they normally advertise in the bargain pages

get an appointment with these people, they will have a list of landlords renting out one bed flats, you may need a deposit / bond and a months rent up front but there are charitiers to help, ask them

Mack, you got things the wrong way round , you need to get a job first, before you look for some where to live, or you will not be able to pay the rent. As a painter you should have no problems, Birmingham is a big city.

First of all Clever trev.....or maybe not so clever trev. Internet usage is free for 30 min in library....why is there a need to plug a pc into park bech lol. Nobody knows what's round the corner....it could be you homeless next week.

Hi, this is just a thought but maybe you could look into local churchs, as where we live our church in rotherham have a house equipped with beds for the night and food all for free. There are volunteers who make and provide the food and a least you have a roof over your head overnight. I hope you find some where soon god bless you
