How can you not know whether you have CCJ's or not? Have you been taken to court for not paying a debt? If not, you are unlikely to have CCJ's. You could have defaults but again, surely you would know. You would be getting letters from debt collection agencies and lenders demanding money from you.

You can request a copy of your credit file from the 3 agencies for 2 each, might be worth checking them first if you really don't know whether you have CCJ's or not.

i dont no as like i said iam in abit of debt but i dont no if ive gt anythin like that at the old adds! im only young and i havnt had anythin like credit cards catouloges etc! the only thing i have been i debt with is council tax!
Then you'd know if the council had taken you to court over Council tax arrears.
200 for a credit check seems rather too much money - I thought 70 was about the going rate.
If i were you i would i would send off to all 3 Credit Check Agencies and take your time to read through them all. They do sometimes make mistakes on these things and they can be rectified with a time and patience. What these show is how many times you have made defaults etc and with which company. It will show all people who have lived at the address too. Is it the letting agency who is charging you 200 for the credit check? If so i am sure you get this refunded if all is ok but if you are unsure of your credit status then i wouldnt go ahead until you find out everything. CCJ's are County Court Judgements so if you have not attended Court (and the Council do take you to Court for non payment but NOT for late payment) then you should be ok. Hope this has helped.
