Lost patio key

Besides making an insurance claim does anyone know how I can get a replacement patio door key ... its only the type like a front door key but Ive misplaced it in house somewhere!

Why would you need to make an insurance claim? You can get a locksmith out to change it.

Hi tgm1974, can you open the door from the inside without the key as with some of them you can. If you can you could take out the barrel and buy new barrel from somewhere like B&Q. That way you will also have spare key. New barrel is not much dearer than buying a couple of keys. Failing that it is either find the other key or as Lakitu said get a Locksmith in or drill out the old barrel yourself then get new one.

No the patio doesnt open from inside without the key. I know I will do all this that has been recommended and find the key but I just wasnt sure how to go about it - as you can tell, Im not up on my "lock replacement" at the moment.
