i have a four metre square conservatory and in one corner the floor it has risen about two inches and cracked the tiles .the area is about 6 foot square .the tiles in that area sound hollow underneath. the conservatory has been there for at least 15 years .there is no cracking to any walls or footings it just happened without any notice what could have caused it and would it be covered through buildings insurance

It depends on what the actual reason for the problem is. As there is no cracking of walls or foundations it is unlikely that subsidence is setting. Although this can't be dismissed.

Speak to your Insurance company and they will advise, although there does need to be proof of an insurable peril taking place (such as flooding, subsidence, heave etc) for a claim to be paid.
