roof tile staining
I have recently had a roof tiled and as a result of recent rain the water has run down the lead channels and caused unsightly white stains on the roof tiles. I am not entirely confident that they will "wash off" as the tiler assures me so can anybody give me any information on this? Thank you.

It will not get worse because the lead forms its own natural coat of lead oxide within a few days of being exposed to the elements.
However the lead oxide coating now on the tiles may take a long time to weather.
It shouldn't have happened but is probably impossible to remove now.
One wonders how bad it is?
