I know u get alot off your market value, but we r desperate to sell.. like yesterday!!!! so seems our only option, nobody has even looked at our house in a month coz of the market at the mo, our house is lovely even if i do ssay so myself, but nothing is selling!

If you really need a quick sale of your house, where will you find a place where you can take all your chickens. Perhaps you can hang on a bit longer as house prices are just starting to rise again. I hope whatever you decide to do that it turns out well for you. Best Wishes. Schutz.
House prices just starting to rise again??? Where's that? I've only just been reading that mortgage lending is at a 34 year low. I dont know how prices are starting to go up if people cant get mortgages? Wishful thinking I think!
As one of these 'quick buy' purchasers are only going to give you 60-70% of what they think the house is worth, why not put it on the market slightly above that figure and see if you get a buyer?

Be very carefull sheribee, lots of con merchants out there. be 100% sure before you commit to that path, can I ask why you feel the need to sell so quickly? despite what has happened in the property market, it is still one of the best investments long term that anybody can make, maybe some of us can come up with an idea so you are not in such a hurry.
couldn't you think of renting out the house?

hi guys x I have to sell b4 they repossess, we r 4 months behind on mortgage payments, coz my hubby has been on long term sick leave since july 08.
We have lived off credit cards, and me doing agency work or temp work as i can, there r just no jobs out there in this town!
we r being threatened by bailifs and were taken court the other day by council too.
My dad is ill with aggressive throat cancer, we want to move to be nearer him which is 140 miles away.
Some of the companies have offered about 75k, its on market for 112.500k so big drop, but we can get the cash in 3 weeks, our mortgage is only 45k so will have money left to pay debts etc and move to rented, we will get housing benefit and income support till i can get a permenant job, as i really dont want handouts, never had them in my hubbys 20 yrs working!!
will speak with the estate agent and maybe drop to 100k to sell quick as we had our 1st viewing today, after 4wks on market!!!
I am looking at cottages in sussex with large gardens and some landlords will accept my chickens, cats, ferrets but will have to downsize my flock x cant be parted from my new 1 wk babies tho xx

I think you will have serious trouble renting a decent property while claiming housing benefit, most main stream landlords won't rent to DSS which is basically anybody claiming housing benefit.
Twenty20 - Schutzengel means the latest Halifax figures, as you say totally unrelated to reality and rather foolish to cherry pick the one that points to a rise when all the rest still point to drops. If you want to base your opinion on the maket on the latest figures I suggest you take yesterdays figures from the Communities and Local Government report released yesterday which was down, both Month on Month and Year on Year.

We have found a house which will allow us to claim dss as we are paying 6 months rent in advance, which is most of the profit from our house, which the dss have said they will be paying us back each month.
Most of the landlords we spoke with were happy for dss as long as we paid 6 months upfront.
Still no movement on our house sale, awaiting surveyor then we can move forwards, just hope they stick to their offer.
