british gas want to change my gas and electricity meters. they are working fine and i don't want them changed. i'm bothered that this will be a way to introduce higher rates on the meter by stealth. they are saying they will send 'enforcers' to my home to make me change them. i thought possesion was nine tenths of the law on my side. is this a fiddle by british gas or should i give in now?

Give in. Possession is 9/10ths of the law but the meters are not yours, they are the property of the gas and electricity company.
The law gives these companies the power to enter your home without your permission in some circumstances, and they can certainly change the meters whether you like it or not.
