Request for advice about 'dispute' with neighbour, & declaring same
Hello folks. Wonder if anyone has an opinion on this situation...
Used to get on very well with my neighbour. But then last month, damage was caused to my property. I 'know' the neighbour did it, with no doubt, believe me. However, the Police advised me that unless the incident was witnessed or admitted to it, no arrest would be made.
So since then, we have ignored each other.
Because absolute proof of guilt does not exist, and I have not taken civil action (yet), and exchanges about the incident have only been verbal, does this situation quality as something that would need to be declared if we decide to sell up? I'm pretty sure that legally I don't have to declare what is only an unproven allegation. I suppose the open approach is to say that I ignore the neighbour because of an alleged incident that I cannot divulge the nature of. It seems to be a one-off incident, so a future buyer is likley to start from square one and not inherit an on-going problem.
