Damp problems

Would having big leafed plants help or add to the problem?

they could add to the problem if you keep them well watered. They are not the cause of the problem though so if you deal with the cause then there is no problem keeping plants indoors.

Adding to hawkwalk's answer there are certain plants such as citrus plants which make the problem worse. I don't know why....
