I guess you don't mean a cavity wall, Thumbs, but a "two brick thick" wall ...... approx 225mm?
The "old" way would be to use something like Flemish bond, which has "headers" as ties through the wall......... ie a brick laid at right-angles to the face.
It's a lot harder to get it right, so just use stretcher-bond with stainless steel wall-ties every six courses.
This is what bricklayers confusingly call a one brick wall! I would put the first wall ties on the 3rd course and then the 9th, but I like to overkill a little bit esecially when the increase in cost is minimal.
