Soak aways
1 Answers
I heard about Soak Aways recently, where your house guttering basically ends in a cube within your garden and soaks away into the ground, rather than going into the drains.
I heard that some local water authorities give you a discount on your water for having a soak away in place (obviously meaning they get less water through the drains) and I was wondering why this was the case. Why do water authorities like having less water?

If it goes in your garden it'll maybe water the plants (so you don't need to use as much water thru the hose) and will eventually end up in a reservoir which requires less expensive treatment to get it up to standard?
