My son pays 50% mortgage and 50%rent on his rerraced house.

If he takes over the next 25%of the mortgage, can anyone give a rough idea of how much his rent is likely to reduce, please?

Assuming, you mean he will then be renting 25% of the total as opposed to 50% he can expect a 50% reductions, ie 50% of 50 = 25
