no-one in my street has one, but i feel i need one as i live on the 1st an second floors and also have a serious bad back so its sometimes a struggle to get down the stairs with 2-3 or even more bags in one go or have to make 2-3 trips... id like to be able to put smaller bags of rubbish out as and when necessary

i have a place to put it so its not a problem for the binmen to get it

can i apply, stating these reasons ? and if so who to? i am in liverpool

thanks

thr dustmen need a different sort of dustcart with a wheelie lift for wheelie bins so unless the whole neighbourhood had them its unlikely you'd be able to...
You can buy your own wheelie bin but above answer still applies.
I thought Liverpool had the purple wheelie bins. binman probably has got a suitable lift, get in touch with the council and see if you can have one.
If you got one, The council would charge you to empty it. The council must have their reasons for not supplying them. Phone the council tell whoever answers your prob and they will put you throo to right dept.

thanks i would happily go down on bin day and empty it and bag the stuff up for the bin men

yes a lot of liverpool has purple bins bins but im on the outskirts and not sure why we dont have them...the only place that does is a business over the road that has red ones... dont know if they mean something

i check with the council
Have you got a front garden?

They don't give out wheelie bins here unless you have a front garden.

yes i have about 4ft wide and about 18ft long space.
I can't see there being a problem then. Although you might have to buy your own.
Question: Is refuse collected DOWN YOUR ROAD by the trucks needed to handle wheelies? If not, I doubt there's much hope in getting a wheelie just for yourself.
I live in the centre of town and we didn't get our wheelie bins until much later than the rest of the town. I am not keen on them - being in the town means that at the weekend the drunks 'play' with them. We had two stolen last year.
Do you have some sort of outside bin for the dustbin men/refuse collectors to empty? If so why not just pop down when you have small bags of rubbish as and when necessary?
I bought mine from Homebase, Joko - we need a bin for waste otherwise the seagulls savage the bags. I just pull the bag out on dustbin day.
