My orange, lemon & pepper plants are riddled with fruit flies. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the pesky critters please?

Thanks snags - making a trap sounds dead easy. I won't be following their advice on how to release them - those boys are dead meat!
Mrs. O. on a gardening programme recently, they said boil some garlic cloves up and make a spray of the liquid and this will get rid of any pests on your plants.
With indoor plants put a layer of gravel "1/2 thick around the plants. The flies can`t get in or out.

Den, it's a good job I like you!
I tried the garlic remedy last night. The house stinks of garlic and the bloody things are still alive.
Oh, never mind Mrs. O. at least Dracula didn't turn up last night though {;o)) well option 2 is spray the soil the plants are in with fly spray, I have done this and it does work.....(:o)
