i have a 500 litre plastic (teflon) tub that has a few splits and so is no longer waterproof. anybody know a good way of repairing aprt from using a soldering iron to rejoin as i have already done that but it is not that strong. please bear in mind that i am in italy so naming a specific product may not be much use so try and explain what the principle is or what the product you would have in mind is based on
many thanks

dad actually stitched one together once by drilling hole along the splits and using fishing takle but that was not waterproof as even though he had soldered it still split but stayed together. what i want to do is reuse it for water but half a ton of water is no joke nor r 200 fish to deal with if it starts to leak.
yea i know what ur saying better get a new one. they rnt that expensive hear (S Italy) as they r used in wine making.
No, not Aralding it's Aralditing.
You should be able to purchase an epoxy two-part adhesive called 'Araldite' it may be a different trade name in Italy. It's made by Ciba Geigy and very strong and waterproof when set (about a day).
You would need to make patches larger than the split and apply them after coating both the tub, in the area of the repair, and the patch. If possible the patch needs to be on the inside surface if the tub, so that the contents are pressing against it but it may work ok on the outside.
Good luck Thunderchild.
