Formica

I put a hot frying pan on my Formica
Top and now I have a burnt ring on it
How can I get rid of the Mark?

Anything which removes the burn (something abrasive seems the only answer) will probably remove the Formica colour/pattern as well. Less unsightly perhaps but hardly a solution I'm afraid.
