Are you leaving it the approx resting time after pasting, then use Docspocs brush. I prefer a tea towel not being as posh as doc.
disco - is it a patterned paper that you need to align? If so get that edge right and brush away from it with something like this

and use a seam roller - then a damp cloth to remove any glue squeezed from joint.
Another reason for bubbles is not laying paper perpendicular - do not start in a corner believing that to be "square" - mark a line usings a chalk line, plumb bob or spirit level one paper width away from corner, and cut paper into corner. Also for best results, start in the lightest part of room i.e next to window and paper into room - hope that all makes sense - if not ask again
If you find when the wallpaper is really dry, in a few days time. that you still have bubbles get a pin and prick it in the middle, then try and flatten it down. get a tea towel and put a heated iron over the top to press it.
After you have pasted the wallpaper, fold it so the pasted side is inside and leave it for at least 5 minutes to allow the paste to soak into the paper. This will reduce air bubbles. I have perfectly flat wallpaper by using this method.
