I have an old style eiderdown, it's not leaking feathers, but why does it sometimes feel less plump than other times? Any tips on how to keep it plump, and also does anyone know if places still exist that can re fill or plump up eiderdowns?

Well, this does not directly answer, but may be useful anyway - a way to transfer the feathers should you decide to make it into cushions:

You replace the bag on a (non Dyson) vacuum cleaner with the pillow ticking, open just a little of the quilt at a time & suck the feathers up using the hose. Works a treat!

I dare say you could transfer feathers from a pillow into the eiderdown that way too.
