Does anyone know if you can still buy the traditional light bulbs from abroad? The 100W bulbs have alrady been banned with the 60W soon to follow thanks to the idiotic climate change zealots. Is there anwhere you can get them from abroad via the internet? I'm sure if somewhere like China started making and exporting them they would sell thousands.

I never knew there were 200w bulbs, are they twice as bright and use twice as much electricity than the 100w model? I've been using low energy eco bulbs and they are horrendous and leaves the rooms dark.
wrongnumber, indeed, and i threw away the ones i had because i couldn't see diddly squat by them.
Em10 what is the point of using a low watt eco bulb to save money and be greener when the truth is you then need to have all the lights on, many lamps and even the torch so you end up using 10 times as much electricity! Lol, probably a ploy by the electricity companies no doubt.
This thread is very interesting. Mum and I have missed the old 100 w light bulbs and didn't think you could get them any more. Now I know you can, I'm going to get some - thanks.
notasyoungasiwas I've found out here that you can also get 200w bulbs, imagine that!
Yep, I can still get them in Brighton.
I have been trying without success to get 150w bulbs but you can still get 100w, mainly from corner shops or cheap discount stores. I have a load of Osram 100w bulbs.
I know, whatever next wrongn3mber !!
Plautus they have 150w bulbs here.

Maybe a 5000w bulb notasyoungasiwas, lol. That would probably be able to give you a tan.
Buy your light bulbs from Lightbulbs Direct quickly before the 60w ones are banned next month.
I am partially sighted, we are all going to be in the ruddy dark soon.
You're using the wrong ones then if it's too dark.

Replaced a bulb last night because one had blown and it's way too bright - I'm going to have to replace it with a darker one.

Use a 21 Watt bulb like this

I just use one 1000w bulb to do the heating and lighting for the whole cottage : )
Jakethepeg I've just checked my ecobulb and it's 11w? Are the 21w ecobulbs as good as 100w old style bulb?
Albags are you pulling our collective legs? 1000w?
After all the comments on here, I went round to my local pound shop today and stocked up on 100 watt bulbs for me and Mum, they had loads in stock. They also had 150 watt too (plautus). Wrongn3mber, I'd be afraid to use 500 watt in case it blew up !! (lol)
