Elephant Hawk Moth on my fuchsia. Do I Kill it or not.

I wont kill it but what might the damage be - this thing is 3 inches long.
when will it pupate, and for how long ?

OMG don't kill it. They are fabulous, uncommon and won't hurt your fuchsia. It has already pupated, all it has left to do is mate/lay eggs and die. You're very lucky to see one.
