Hanging an MDF Door

Hi. I need to hang an MDF Door in a School. There is an existing hinge (one part only) simaler to rising butt but without the rise factor (so just a pin sticking up that the previous door would have located on). The door will stand proud (by MDF thickness) of its hinged side and it proud on its opposite side when shut. So imagine the door when shut lying across a gap and resting on a panel on each side.

My question is. Which type of hinge should I use?

I hope I've understood you properly, Fithawk ........... you're covering a door with MDF panels that will stick out proud on each face?

Sounds like you need projection hinges ( or "parliament" hinges)

Stupid price though ............. parliaments are cheaper and do the same job........
