I wore a new cardigan (nylon/acrylic mix) in dark pink over a long sleeved white cotton T shirt yesterday and now there are patches of pale pink across both shoulders of the T shirt.

I haven't washed the T shirt yet and wondered if there is some pre-treatment I should use to ensure the pink stains come out.

Any ideas please?

If I were you, I would take both garments back to where you bought the cardigan, and ask for your money back - unless there is a specific warning on the cardigan that colour may leak, this isn't good enough.

You can try a pre-wash stain remover such as Vanish, but it might not work, and I'd try option 1 first - once you've washed it, you may have no argument.

Thanks boxtops - I think you've made a good point, I actually bought both items on Friday from the same shop. There's no warning of colour transfer.

I'll go back tomorrow and see what they say.

Quick update - took both items back to the shop and they gave me a full refund with any quibbling.
Thanks boxtops for suggesting this.
