Car warranty question
3 Answers
Step daughter bought a car from a garage at a cost of around £4k. It had a 6 month warranty.
During that 6 months, something went seriously wrong with the car and they took it back. They refused to fix it.
Trading standards got involved and 6 months later, they've agreed to settle the cost as the car is too expensive to fix.
Trading standards asked my daughter to claim for everything...including the HP costs she's still been paying, the insurance she's still paying etc etc etc.
The grand total is £7,500. which includes all the independant checks and reports they had done on it.
I can't help feeling that they're not going to go for that amount and will just offer her the book price of the car less 10% for wear and tear.
What do you think ?
Many thanks

If a counter offer by the garage is unacceptable then there is always the small claims court. It seems to me that if you are out of pocket then that should be reimbursed. The garage had plenty of opportunity to come up with an acceptable settlement long before this.
