Just avoid the cheap ones on eBay.
Beware also .. you cannot get a stick into some of them .. many of the small ones need really short thin logs. They don't tell you much about this when they are trying to sell them.
Sorry, only just seen this. We live in Hereford so too far for himself - don't get anything too cheap - you get what you pay for. I have had a lovely stove sitting in the fireplace for weeks now, it's not all joined up to the chimney or anything but looks brill, should be great when it's actually working!
Valor are great quality .. but expensive.
Most Scandinavian brands are great too .. like Morso.
Cheap stuff will soon distort and leak smoke .. and are difficult to fuel.
Ash pans tiny .. like half a shoe-box size.
Small logs .. like half the size and thickness you could put on an open fire in the average home grate, SC : )
