I have a decorative piece of bamboo (the green twirly type), and rather than throw it away, I put it in water. This resulted in leaves sprouting from it. How do I make the actual bamboo grow though??!

There is something similar known in the USA as "Lucky Green Bamboo", where several stalks are tied together with ribbon and put into a decorative, watertight pot. Gravel and water are all it takes for the bamboo to be nice and leafy. I've repotted mine and noticed roots had sprouted. You might do a search under "lucky green bamboo" and see if it yields any suggestions. Cheers
