Eurggghhhh the little monsters have invaded my house, I've had them in the bedroom, livingroom and kitchen. I've been having great success with humane traps and taking them a good few miles away before setting them free but I have a couple that just won't go in the trap. I went to buy traditional traps today but ended up coming home with A Beacon advanced pest controller that you plug into the wall and it sends electromagnetic pulses around the wiring of the house and ultrasonic sound into the room to repel the rodents. Has anyone else used this or a similar product and Do they work?
TIA

Have you tried putting notices up?
Or a cat?

'repel the rodents' ... nice : )
When I tried one they only seemed to keep the little so and so out of the room where we plugged it in.

lol I've shouted at them to leave and next door has 3 cats....all appear to be useless! I'm just wondering if I've wasted £32 or if I'm going to have to go ahead and kill the scunners cause I don't fancy emptying out traps and I can't use poison cause I have 2 small children and a dog..I don't fancy hunting out mouse bodies either :(
Used the humane trap, just picked up the trap, with mouse in, put it in a box, so it couldn't escape in car and drove it 2 miles then just opened trap and tipped it out. Was off like a shot.
In the old days, the kids used to pitchfork the rats.

ubasses, I've made that journey umpteen times now..once at 4:30am! As I said the ones in my bedroom won't go in it, they sit on top of right enough! I've filled it with peanut butter, choc spread etc, no joy. I can't have anymore sleepless nights, they scurry across my bookshelves, my bedside cabnets and once my sons cot.....no more, they have to go. x
You might have to bite the bullet and exterminate them - my daughter tried the humane traps also the plug ins, before she knew it she was over run. You need to fill all holes up as they can get through the tiniest gap. Maybe you could ring the council as they have special traps that kids and dogs can't get in. Good luck x
only 100% way is to put poison down, i keep it down permantley in my garage if i dont it will be overun in a few weeks , mice breed at a prolific rate & can do serious damage..one year i didnt put it down my garage was alive with them 100+ easily.
borrow a cat for a few days
Oh. MY. GOD!!!

I thought my one (singular) rat problem in my kitchen was bad enough, but this is horrible! How do you manage to stop your mind becoming unhinged by this invasion? I'd have to move house, I couldn't bear it.

Can't offer advice, but just wanted to sympathise- massively with you. Hope you get it sorted.

Boo...what happened to your rat in the end ?
Mice simply cannot resist FUDGE. try this to tempt them.
I read your post as mouse and "bacon" LOL
hi there, sorry to hear your having problems, we had a massive problem in the summer, tried hummane, researched all the plug in type which it seemed unless you spend a fortune they arent very good. in the end resorted to the old fashioned type of rat trap and peanut butter, but not the smooth type, the one with the nuts in ! you need to find where the little buggers are coming in and block it up. the only way to block up the holes is to use wire wool, ( plumbers merchant/diy store sells that ) apparently its one of the few things that the rodents cant gnaw through. unless you block up where they are coming in you wont get rid of the problem, as their mates will come in too !! hope it helps

mike
In answer to MM (ony just seen your post), we think, infact we know we think it's dead- lol) as there's been no signs of it for about a month now, dog (and now cat food) has still been there when left overnight, the dog's no longer obsessed with the fireplace and the biggest clue, a few weeks ago we had a infestation of blue bottles....which was nice!

Not found a body though, and neither did the rat man, but we're pretty much 100% certain its dead.

aggiela- have you got your mouse problem sorted now then?
I am staying at Australia and had the problem like this. At first I tried the sonic device but frankly say it is of no use. Finally I visited a website i.e. http://www.pestfreesydney.com.au/. I contacted them and took the help of the professional people in this regard. Now, I am free from this problem. I think you should also take the help of them.
