Boundaries between neighbours
2 Answers
What are the legalities of building a brick wall separating you and your neighbour? Ie, how high can the wall be and where is the boundary between the neighbours?
Thanks

Generally you neeed to find out whether it is a party wall boundary, and who owns it. Then you may need the approval of the adjoining owner (Party Wall Notice) to build on the boundary - even if you only need access to build the wall. See also: party wall act
I would guess that the maximum height would be about 2m.
If the wall is entirely on your own property, ie inside the boundary, then you can go up to 2m with no problem. You can then add another 1m (I think, but don't quote me on this) of wooden trellis, as this is classed as a temporary structure. www.gardenlaw.co.uk as mentioned above is an excellent site, well worth a look in the forums.
