ALTO, formely known as KEW are good machines - I've had KEW for 20yrs and has only now started to give bother.
Whereas the complete load of junk known as KARCHA - I've had to repairn my fathers several times because of the junk metal they make them with.
EDGE are another good make.
We have a Nilfisk which is cheap but does what we want. We use it occasionally so it is fine. I think if we used one a lot it would be one of the more highly rated models. Dont forget gtanny that hosepipe restrictions are being placed in large parts of Eastern England. Also there is the water meter to consider if you have one.
Thnak you all for your input - will have a look around but you haave given me something to think about. No hosepipe ban for us yet and we are not on a water meter
I used to have a Karcher but it had a plastic pump body which split during the winter due to water still in the body.
I now have a Nilfisk 120 Bar, 1700 watt. model C120 which is very good and also has a metal pump.
Just something to bear in mind, Gran.
All I know re pressure washers is I bought one from QVC, didn't get around to using it for about a year, and when used in earnest it leaked, badly. Not first use, but maybe 3rd or 4th. Been in the shed ever since awaiting enthusiasm/time to try to fix it. Based on that one purchase I'd advise against a QVC one.
