NEW LOGIK BLACK CHIMNEY HOOD

We have just bought a Black Logik chimney cooker hood from currys for £49. However when we have opened it we didnt realise that you have to buy a charcoal filter separatley.....they are Logik Charcoal Filter Set - pack of 2 L90CHDB10 at £34.99 they look like a circular cartridge. But is it possible to buy a cheaper copy version (that is safe?) thankyou

They last years though so it doesn't work out that expensive. (although you'll probably loose the second one before you needed to use it, well I would :))

I'm not so sure that your comment is true, Chuck.
The carbon absorbs the fat vapour (and other aromas) from the air passing over it then the air gets recirculated back into the room. It loses its effectiveness at a rate that depends on the amount of fat removed - gets blocked up in the end.
Which is why I prefer to fit an extractor that takes the fatty smells outside.

Well, we have the same issue and it seems the only place it can be bought is at Partmaster, we have had some order since 1 February and they say they are only getting delivery on 27 April. I cannot believe this really. I had a look at Pixmania and they show the same cooker hood with an electrolux carbon filter, as they are relatively expensive, I was reluctant to buy the electrolux one but we are now so fed up with partmaster, we may just give it a go
