Most all conifers are subject to shock when transplanted. This is usually overcome by attention to watering. The plant needs to be watered thoroughly about every 10 days or so. Dig down next to the plant about 4 inches or so... if the soil is moist at that level, watering is sufficient, if not water at least 30 minutes from a gently running tap. They really don't need much fertilizer the first year. Mulch the plant out to the diameter of the drip line. Keep the dogs and cats away. Hopefully the hole was prepared sufficiently as to size and some peat moss added to retain moisture... Good luck!
