I'm looking at mattresses on line and a few I've seen say triple zoned but I can't find a description of what this means anywhere.

Has anyone got any idea?

  Product Description
The Trizone mattress topper has three specific zones cut into the foam providing different levels of support and weight distribution. Made from high density CM (combustion modified) foam, this topper directly relieves pressure from areas causing you pain by distributing your weight across the surface of the topper. This will help to optimise circulation while promoting a restful sleep.
The first zone has a corrugation Pattern which increases airflow and helps keep the topper cool. The second zone has a Zig-Zag Pattern helping to distribute body weight evenly. By relieving pressure from sensitive areas such as the shoulders and hips arthritic, joint and muscular pain will be greatly improved. The third zone has a dimpled pattern providing gentle support and a massage-feel to it.

Our Trizone mattress Topper is versatile and will enable you to take it with you on holiday, fantastic as a camping mat, to use on a boat, caravan or camper van simply roll it up and take it with you for all the comforts of home.

The Trizone Topper will fit comfortably under bedsheets and are easily rolled for storage purposes.
I know thats a "topper" but i assume the mattress

Lol Mick!

Hhhmm, thanks Tinks. Looks like those sort of mattresses might not be totally crap then :)
It's a system that has been brought over from foam pressure relief mattresses in hospitals that stop people getting pressure sores. it's basically because you don't have the same pressure on the mattress from all parts of the body when you lay down so the mattresses are made from either different densities of foam in different areas (or differing cut patterns) to compensate for this.

If you combined the mattress with a waterproof cover it would be a proper pressure relief mattress that you could pee on to your hearts content too :) (I used to work for the company that pioneered this type of mattress into hospitals)

Lol, trust me I always ensure zone 1 is for me, zone 2 is for me and zone 3 is for me. If he's lucky the cat can share a bit of my foot space.

So, Chuck, this is actually a pretty decent feature to have in a mattress then?
If you're a bit on the heavy side i would highly recommend it as the mattress is firmer at hip level so supports the back. There are also 5 zone mattresses.

Well I am about a stone overweight. Best look for a ten zone mattress :)
