What would I pay?

I have a small garden but these last few weeks I have let it get out of hand. It is mostly big weeds and that crawly stuff. I was thinking of advertising for some one to give it a once over. No digging would be required as garden is well established with plants that come up every year. I don't want a garden company just maybe some one wanting to earn a bit . What would I pay them as I have no idea and I would not want to underpay. I would say it could be done in 2 to 3 hours. There is no grass to mow. Thanks for reading and grateful for any replies.

20 quid and a cup of tea.
All depends on how well the job is done. If they make a good job of it and it took them less than three hours I'd go for £30. However, a bad job for same time would only merit £20 (and a cup of tea!)

Thank you both for your replies. Sounds good and I would even throw in a sandwich or biscuits as well .
I wish I lived near you I'd do it for free I really miss having a garden

How kind. Nice to know there are good people around. Still would not let you do it for nothing. Sometimes I wish I hadn't a garden but I would miss it .
I live in Lincolnshire and pay a man £11 an hour. He usually calls every 10 days or so. It's worth it as I can't keep on top of it now.
Expect to pay between £10 and £15 an hour.

Where are you Wendilla ?

Rowanwitch...are you anywhere near Brighton ? i have a decent group of volunteers who help me in my garden at work.
I used to have a guy who wasn't really a gardener but who cut the lawns and did some weeding, I paid him £10 an hour. I now have a proper gardener and pay him £15 an hour.
I'm in Birmingham I used to have a lovely biggish garden with ponds and all sorts of wild life

Thanks for replies. I see that £10 for an hour would be ok as it is only a small garden. I am not looking for an experienced gardener just someone to generally get the big weeds out. As I said most of it is that sticky stuff and dandelions. Hammerman I am in Leicestershire. No mowing to do as mostly slabbed.
This may sound risky to you but you could try putting an advert in the local college, Wendilla. Most young people are looking for some ways to make a bit of money. Well, I know my students are but obviously I can't employ them.
With the long summer holidays coming up, most students are looking for jobs.

You may not want to do that though.

Thanks for your reply Tilly. There are a few decent lads in village that I know of but I did not want to ask them till I knew roughly how much to pay them.
