What's the best Perrenial plants for attracting Butterflies?

I've got a plant which I bought from the local garden centre called "Butterfly Plant".  I'm sure it also has a latin name, but do not know what it is.  It is a very strong plant, grows very tall and bushy, it gives lilac flowers each year.  The butterflies love it.

I think that tetherend is talking about buddleia & comes in several colours.
There are lots of plants that you & the butterflies will enjoy & you'll find a list with pictures here john....

Plenty to choose from, I hope you have a big garden!!

Conspicously missing from tetherend's web site listing is Monarda, commonly called Bee Balm.  It comes in several different color varieties and is not only very good for attracting butterflies, but is also excellent for attracting hummingbirds...
