I`ve just taken down some cream voile curtains and soaked them in the bath with Dr Beckman Glo White and liquid wash. They looked really grey (especially at the top where they draw together). After soaking, they still look really grey. What can I wash them with to bring them back to cream? Should I do them in the machine (I did them in the bath because I didn`t want to mess up the draw string bit at the top)? Are they better with powder, what temperature and is there a magic ingredient I can add?

They should be ok in the washing machine. Have you tried using Vanish powder - worked a treat on my white ones. I haven't tried it, but I read recently than an aspirin in the water works miracles to produce a clean wash. Worth a go I suppose.

Thanks quizbag. I`ve now borrowed some washing powder so I`ll see how that goes. You`ve reminded me that I`ve got some of that Oxy stuff in the airing cupboard. I might try that and the aspirin for the next lot.
