Very few here (UK) have half doors, in fact I can only think of 2 place and both of those are in a nursery

yes*
In some rest stops here in rural China you need 2 umbrellas and a plastic sheet. There is no privacy at all. You can get used to it, and the hole in the floor.
Air circulation Usef..................... er ............... pongs etc :o(
easy to clean/wash the floor...
It is so the kids can peer under the door, point & laugh, then run away.
some do, the ones in the Westfield shopping malls all have these horrible, claustrophobic doors ceiling to floor, makes you feel like running out.. if it wasn't for the fact you might need one x
So people can have a laugh at others...
