Ok ..... you let them know what you were going to do but it would be unreasonable of them to move/protect all items in their garden "just in case" and you chose to spray when you did, i.e. when it was windy.
If it doesn't clean off, I think you'd be morally obliged to replace the damaged furniture .......... and by doing so, ensure that neighbourly good relations are maintained, which is a valuable commodity in itself !
thanks
the woman however is being arkward and won,t let me clean it, it is after all water based and if i had been allow to do it at the time it would have wipe striaght off. it is still cleanable however it will take some elbow grease. I still think as they are light plastic table and chairs she had time to move them and she is being clever trying to get a new set of furniture to replace one of dubious quaility
I would price up a similar set and give her payment for it if you feel you should. Write a letter with it and say that you consider it is fair. Or you can offer to purchase the items for her and deliver them.
Take photographs of the furniture if you can in case she takes it further.
She should still allow you the right to have it cleaned if it is possible to make good the damage.
