Broken shower head.

Our shower head broke off from the hose. I am just wondering is it possible to get a new connector that is threaded on both sides, one side that can thread into the shower head and the other side can connect to the hose?

The problem with inserting a 'connector' is that it will inevitably reduce the bore of the pipe at that point - which will reduce the flow - and (if it is an instantaneous electric shower) may upset the balance of the heating unit.

The pipe ususually screws onto the head. Is a piece of the shower head still in the nut on the end of theipe?

Aw now I'm dying to know what snags said lol, I'm ever so sensitive. Builder this would be a standard size fitting I'm thinking. one end would have a smaller thread to screw into the head and the other end the standard size for hose.

Flobbers. I have always though that it was moulded into the end of the hose... so not replaceable.
If it is separate, try a Plumbers' Merchants. It may well be a regular 1/2" x 15mm connector or something along those lines. They'll try a few things for you. They love a challenge :o)

The shower head has a 1/2" male fitting and the hose has a 1/2" female fitting.
The shower hose has snapped off ... so what do you intend screwing the double ended fitting into.?

Buy a new shower hose .. . or you could always try cellotape ;-)

Got it sorted. Jammed some sort of a fixing in there and the other end screwed into the hose, so thanks for all the responses.

Builder, for shame, QOTSA are one of the best and most original bands in the world, each song is unique.

Snags, yeah I saw a thing on Facebook where they showed Grohl's name on the soundboard, can't wait til the tour, I would even go to Bon Jovi in Slane if QOTSA are on the bill. And by the way, yes it is slightly tightarsish but the original shower head cost 30 squid and it is excellent so that's why I wanted to fix it and I have, so there!!
