Moving plants

My tree is being cut down this week and I have to move my sunflowers and gourds to another part of the yard. I need advice.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You'll be very lucky to move them and for them to survive, they are annual plants and won't have a very big root system. If you want to try I suggest you dig holes ready for the plants in another part of your garden , dig them up wth plenty of surrounding soil and absolutely 'puddle' them in to their new site with masses of water in the holes. However I'm not hopeful.
