My heating went off at the weekend, boiler is working fine and hot water ok but the rads wern't getting hot.

Called a plumber out and rather than giving me an expensive estimate to fix the problem he asked if I was "any good on the tools".

He told me to switch the heating and water off and let it cool down then remove the pipe above the pump as it might be blocked.

I did that and the pipe was clogged up with a black chalky like substance, cleaned it out and put it back and the rads heat up except one downstairs.

Any suggestions how to get this one working?

Turn all the rads off except the one that doesn't heat then turn the heating on. See if that works x

Ummmm's suggestion first Elvis, then take the (numbered) head off the valve at one end and make sure the pin is not stuck down
