The Perils Of Privatisation - Part X
News16 mins ago
Hi,
One year ago I moved house. My next door neighbour asked me to keep my kitten out of her garden to which I replied "I will try" but you know how kittens are. She says that her family are allergic to cats. But wouldn't they have had an allergic reaction to it by now? I mean she does about 3 loads of washing a day so wouldn't she have had a reaction through the washing. She asks me to keep it in and out of her garden all the time, but what do i do when it needs the toilet? It is also getting very sunny and hot so sometimes i need to leave the front door open so its not so hot in the house. She doesnt have a fence and her son comes into my garden to see my son, he has even come into my house and still no allergic reaction. I am doing my best by coming over and collecting it 24/7. So what im asking is shouldn't it be her job to keep the kitten out of her garden by putting up a fence? I don't want to start an argument with her incase it is my problem. But i reeeeelly think it is hers.
Pleeeeaaaasssseee reply! This lady is blagging my nut!!!
thx, liamstar2002

there is no law that she can impose re cats. They roam and the law recognises this. Dogs she can call the dog warden. Cats there is nothing she can do.
Try the alarm thing but we have all sorts of cats in our garden and they use my planters as the local toilet. It is all a bit annoying but hardly the end of the world.
Surely if the cats are outside the allergy thing is a bit unreasonable! There must be cat hair in the air even if you don't have one living in your street! Also what about the dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and the rats that apparently are always withing 10 feet of us!
Good Luck
Maybe your neighbour thought that an allergy was a polite excuse and meant that she didn't have to say what she really felt
The other side of the coin.
my mum lives next door to a cat owner. the cat comes into her garden, poos on it and kills the birds she likes to feed.
My mum now can't leave her back door open in warm weather because the cat walks in and wanders around the house and she has to chase it out
It also sharpens its claws on her fence and has made a hole in it.
She doesn't want to make a fuss because the neighbour is generally friendly but it does get a bit much
Don't get me wrong, I like cats, although I keep them out of my garden (I have a dog and a cat scarer alarm) because I don't like them killing my birds and fishing in my goldfish pond.
I know what the law says but it seems only fair that if you decide to keep a pet, you should ensure that neighbours are not disadvantaged by your choice. Why don't you put a fence up?
I know this reads like a really snotty post and I don't mean it personally, its just when you have seen the other side of the problem.......
hi again,
Thanks for ur reply! I already had the kitten before i moved in and i had a fence up but it blew down (i live in a rented house and its my landlords job to put one back up, which i dont think he plans on doing.) and her garden is cemented so my cat doesnt poo in her garden (no birds go in her garden plus she aint the sort of person who would feed birds, lol. I wouldnt mind but my cat only passes thru her garden. I can understand where ur coming from but she has made NO effort whatsoever.
pleeeaase reply id like what your views are with the new info.
thanks again

Hi,
I second everything woofgang has said. I have quite a large lawn, used by my neighbours mog as his toilet area, consequently this precludes my grandchildren from playing on it. I rememember the first time, as a crawling toddler, my grandson was picked up, covered in the mess.
Love me, love my cats, no thanks.
