I am a keen veg grower in wiltshire but am moving to the shetlands what vegetables and fruit can I grow there sucessefully

well as i am groing runnr beans in italy (after much experimenting and regrowing from the original seeds) i think u will manage all over england with any veg so don't worry just get down to it !

In Shetland you will not be able to grow certain things outdoors which can be grown in England, but with appropriate shelter you could grow most or all of the same. Outdoors you will be able to grow the most familiar vegetables (potatoes, carrots, radishes, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, etc.) plus some soft fruit. Protection (cold frames, glass house or even just a windreak) will improve the scope and results.
