14! blimey!

yes i didnt think itd be much really but the person uses electricity cards.

i used to have a 4ft one years ago, but havent the foggiest about the electricity costs - didnt notice it rocket though.
Best to go to a pet shop which specialises in fish, and ask. I'm very out of date!
I would say about £2.50p per week if its in a 16 degree room
You need to tell us what size of heater you propose to use - they seem to come in a range from 25W to 250W, then add perhaps 15W for the light/filter motor. Only a fish expert is going to know what size heater you need for a 2ft tank.
At the bottom end of size, 40W of electricity costs about £1 per week on a 100% duty cycle (proportion of the time the heater is on versus off). I'll bet an average heater is only on third of the time, so say 40p per week.
That's an interesting difference BS, are you a fish expert?
Electric eels were my specialty.BM........Do you agree with the RCD thread :-)
I had a 50 gallon tank it had a 25 watt heater plus a pump and filter , I would be surprised if it cost £1 a week to run. It was set at 25deg but our central heating was set to 20 deg so it only needed to heat the water by 5 deg. A colder house would have higher running costs for the fish tank. The cost of fish food was more than the heating cost.
