Kettles

I have to buy a new kettle - the choice seems boggling. Any recommendations? I want an electric, cordless preferably rapid boil and also with a lever that lifts up the lid so you don't have to fill it through the spout.

Not sure I'm any expert, but I recently replaced my old one with a Breville Brita filter kettle. Seems to work ok, and boils fast. Filters are a running cost though.

Our old kettle sprang a leak last week. Have just bought a cream (they do other colours to match you kitchen) Morphy Richards one from Curry's. £29.99 half price. It is great.

I have one of these (not in red though !). You can fill through the spout or lift the lid. You can also have a whistle or turn it off.

Smurf, I've got one of them in red (never occurred to me to take the lid off though) and a matching (different brand) four-slice toaster.

they do lack the flip lid, though (delonghi). Depending what you are after, Argos usually do a fair range

We had a Quooker installed and got rid of the kettle. I was sceptical to start but was quickly converted.

I have anm Aldi one in polished stainless steel and it works...just as a kettle should!

Don't buy a Robert Dyas Nuo kettle. They have everything you want and we really like the look of it but lid on first replacement still sometimes needs several pushes before it stays shut and it boils for ages before the automatic switc-off, creating loads of steam. We got the glass one which wasn't cheap either.
