I've just rang to book an assessor to come out. I think this new scheme is a great idea.
Anyone had an assessor out yet?

also are you aware that there is interest charged on the loan? I'd be doing my sums very carefully if I were you....If you sign up to it, there is an automatic win for the supplier and an automatic win for the loaner of the money.....I'd want a GUARANTEED decent win for the property owner, it seems to me that that's where all the risk is.
I had my loft insulated on Saturday afternoon.
When the chap knocked on the door I said if it was free I would have it done. He came in took some details had a look in the loft filled in a form that said in black print at the bottom "that no fee was chargeable to the consumer. Also there was another box that he wrote in F.O.C. (free of charge).
They were due between 12 noon and 4pm. My partner and I both work till 1pm on Saturday in our own business. So at 11.30am I sent my partner home to let them in. They rang 5 mins later to say they were running early could they come round. Yes we said. They were finished by 1pm to 1.30pm. Job done house lovely and warm now.
No payment has been given. Apparently it is government backed and will not go on forever. A few people in our neighbourhood have had it done. Not heard any complaints.

That's the way to go coffee, get as much as you can for nothing. When my fuse box was changed last year, the British Gas fella who fitted it said that they were doing free cavity wall insulation, he called a number and I spoke to someone, unfortunately my house is not right for it, your's might be though, if you're a BG customer, it's worth an ask.
