Water Supply Pipe Insurance - Do we really need this? I've never heard of anybody who had to have this pipe renewed and on a normal Semi-detached house with a drive for one car, roughly how much would it cost to pay for it's replacement please?

Modern polyethylene pipe rarely fails.
If a new run is ever needed, it would most likely be "tunneled" to the house with a "mole" powered by compressed air. Not desperately expensive.
I can't give you an idea of the price, since it would depend on things such as what services are already in the drive etc.
Trenching the conventional way would be disruptive and messy. You'd need quotes from a landscaper and gardener.
