Roman Blinds ........go Up But Won't Go Down

Roman blinds came down for decorator, roman blinds gone back up but ...........they will pull up really well but won't drop down again! Sure it's something simple but afraid it's beyond us what the problem is! Any help at all?

Sometimes you pull vertically to get the blinds to go up and pull outwards (towards you) to release them? There will be a catch in the mechanism that stops the blinds falling down.
