Can anyone help me by telling me how many sq. metres in the area of 112 1/2 inches wide by 92 1/2 inches in length thanks for any help

I make it 6.7sqm

92 1/2 in = 235cm.
2.86 x 2.35 = 6.7sqm

Yes, 6.72 square metres.
It's easier if you measure it metrically, of course!

That's 2.86m by 2.35m, which gives an area of 6.72 sq m.

In practice though, you'll have to allow for the available widths of carpet, plus whether or not a join is acceptable. For example, if the carpet shop only stocks carpet in 2m and 4m widths, you'll either need to join two pieces of carpet together or accept a great deal of wastage.
