can you please inform me how i cut back lupins

Well you can dead head them as soon as they have finished flowering by cutting out the whole flower spike. This means that you might get another smaller one later in the summer. If the clump is too big, dig it up and divide it in autumn. Clear away the dead leaves when the plant has died down for tidiness. It will shoot again next spring
